screed bedding paving slabs

hi guys looking for some advice re methods for laying paving slabs,has any one had any experience of laying paving slabs using a screed bedding technique as used for block paving using a sharp sand cement mix instead of just sharp sand tho?local slab making/patio laying firm have suggested this method to my sister,say its what they always do and they come recomended! im not so sure bout doing it this way tho! your thoughts please! many thanks

can be done, but normally ends up with slabs moving and pointing breaking up over time. fine if they are butt jointed slabs. Best way is to bed in wet mortar. they dont move.
