any one been screeding this year first on i got was back in jan this year
iv just booked one in for april total renew hack up old and relay 20m2
gage is ment to bee 3/1 mix on site but im thinking of saving time
and geting it ready mixed any one used it ready mixed and know the price per m2 thay charge
i know that one tone of sharp sand is ment to cover 8m2
theres no under floor heating that i know of its just one room not split up

sorry ment to say how thick is it as the chances are once youve dug it up it wnt be a uniform thickness right through.
im not very good at maths so for me to work this out i usually have to work out the deepest point then work it bk untill i know how many tones i need, its very long winded but it works for me.

If you think of a cube (ie. a dice) and it is 1mtr squared (6 sides all of 1mtr square) then if you break the cube up into 100mm sections you will have 10 square metres at 100mm thick. So if you break it up into 50mm sections then you will have 20 square metres at 50mm thick. This is usually the way I get my head round thicknesses of areas like concreting or floor screeding to work out materials. But dont forget you have to allow for cement in screeds and aggregate and cement in concrete.

So if 1 cube of sand weighs 1000kilos then you would need 250 kilos of cement to make a 4-1 mix. This would be if you were mixing it yourself. Where I am if you order ready mixed 50mm or 75mm floor screed mix they will ask you if you want "fibres" in the mix, which is supposed to help stop cracking and hold the mix together better, we usually have them put in as there doesn't seem much difference in the mix when laying it. But we might do 1 floor a year if that, so its not a regular thing for us...Hope this helps  or I may just be rammbling thru the drink....

its logical rambling roy haha  .
thats how i work out the amount needed aswell i thought my way was quite a long way but it seems to be the norm so that good to know haha.
i usually get the filing put in the mix to it cnt hurt haveing the reinforment filings thrown in so i usually order them
