screen expanding

I HAVE HAD MY DELL LAPTOP NOW FOR ABOUT 5 YEARs i know it's ancient but regular maintenance and tweaking the think runs like dollar watch but every now and then when opening the lid the screen size has expanded i need to move the cursor from one side to the other to view the screen i then have to restart to correct it. two days late bosh it does it again im using xp and have tried various browsers , cheers will

Try holding ctrl & using the mouse wheel, just googled it, & tried it.
