m/soft sign in screen

i'm trying to get rid of the sign in screen on my laptop... I watched u-tube and typed netplwiz in run command and went through the instructions from the u-tube video... restarted the laptop.. But it is still asking for the password...Followed the instructions again but Microsoft is having none of it. is there another way round this.

Try another version instructions as sometimes one guide can be incorrect.

Alternatively, if you remove the password from the user account, you'll just get a "sign in" button - no need to enter a password, so you'll just be able to hit space/return to get to your desktop.

That all said and done, I'd still keep a password just as a form of basic security.
