Screws Needed For Stud Wall

Hi everyone

I’m building a stud wall fireplace this weekend and will be using 3x2 timber, unless it’s preferable to use 4x2 which I have also read is commonly used.

if using 3x2, what size screws are best for this? Diameter and length please.

10x4 inches.
Use reissers screws and you won't regret it.
