Does anyone know how to connect a normal extension lead for a telephone to an sd1+ dialler, as I bought it used and it didn't include one...

The extension lead has red,black,yellow & blue terminals and the sd1+ has a, b, a1& b1

Thanks

Usually connect as follows:
A-red
B-white

ignore A1 and B1 its for line equipment dropout. (BUT is better if used)

as you have different colors proceed as follows:

Test BT Plug for correct cores:
strip back cores you need the the 1st and last core e.g far two ends.
once identified connect to A-B anyway around as polarity is unimportant.

To Confirm with a multimeter set to ohms/continuity and test end two pins
to cores.

hope this helps

If your extension lead is the stranded/nylon type then you will never get it to work correctly.
Use telephone cable or alarm cable if none available.

If you lie the cable flat, the two outer conductors will be the line and be connected to A and B, polarity is not particularly important with this.

Make sure you use an ADSL filter if you have ADSL on the phoneline.

ok, I've opened up the telephone box and I've got

blue in 5
orange in 4
pink in 3
white in 2

anyone know whats next?!
