I am having a new roof soon (tiles) but sea gulls are a pest on the old one and have been for a few years. The babies stay up there all day screeching and waiting for their food every day. I have heard of spikes but can anyone tell me if these are easy to fit, do they work and where can I get them from? Thanks for any help.

i feel your pain. :( . had a major prob last year when i got a dog. the incumbent seagulls went mental. dive bombing me, my wife dog and kids. B*stards defecated on me deliberately when walking home. My roof is too big for spikes. reverted to the old high speed lead through the eye socket. ##good luck

Don't feed them and they'll likely move on.

Shooting is the best way if you're allowed, especially the babies so it stops the territorial link

.22 air rifle- and telescoping sights- works wonders.
Just gotta catch them when they are on your side of the roof--so they dont fall into a neighbours garden.
Also- a good pair of ladders- so you can get up to take the pests out of the gutter .
Put them in with the compost-- roses really bloom .
