hi
our bathroom when refurbished before we bought our flat just had the tiles slapped down onto concrete with no grouting or anything in between. as you can imagine it ended up very stained ( very quickly)so we've drilled out between the tiles to allow us to grout.
is there some sort of sealant i can buy to help seal the grout so it doesnt discolour/ get grubby, my husb assures me this stuff does exist but every diy/hardware shop ive walked into im met with blank expressions when i ask & despite looking at every can/tube/packet on every shelf i can think of in these shops im stumped.

yes it would be easier to get other half to get the stuff but ive been waiting for him to do this job for over 3 years now & 'we need the sealant' is the latest in a long line of excuses.
help

You basically have 2 choices.

1 Use an epoxy grout which is non porous and therefore resists stains. Downside to it is that it is more difficult than normal water based grout to clean off and is comparitively expensive.

2 Use normal floor grout (flexible if porcelain or wood floor, etc.) and once the grout has dried and been cleaned off apply a grout protector. I use the HG Super Protector for wall and floor grout which seals the pores of the grout. You're wasting your time at B&Q and places like that as they don;t know what they're talking about. Go to a specialist tile retailer....if they don;t stock it they'll be able to get it.
