Many years ago we set up a metal shed at the bottom of the garden onto large concrete slabs placed by the previous owners which had previously housed a wooden shed. The area of concrete is larger than the shed, but made up of around 4-6 stones. We covered the floor with plastic liner and then placed wooden pallets on the floor.
Over the years it has become more and more frustrating when we clean the shed each spring to find that because the concrete slabs are not joined, and in some cases have many cm or inches gap, soil, slugs and worms can be found underneath the plastic and there is also large amounts of water actually inside the plastic sheets (it is doubled over so the water must have seeped between the layers).
What would be best to plug up the gaps where currently the soil and worms etc are getting into the shed? And the metal edges of the shed that are sort of connecting to the concrete, what sealant should I be using to try and prevent anything getting in that shouldn't be there?
