Sealing Gas Hob??

I have had a new gas hob put in today. The tape that came with it i put around the inside edge of the hob (the over hanging bit on the side). I did this according to the diagram. Is this correct? or have i put it in the wrong place? if i have what do you advise
 
By Plumber you mean RGI? No, tape seal went where it should. Just make sure you have an isolation point accessible and you were given a safety certificate.

It is also notifiable work so you need the buildings control certifcate too.

No you shouldn't unless you live alone in a detached house nowhere near anyone else.. :roll:
