Sealing round a bath

A few months ago, we fitted a new bathroom suite, but i had a bit of a problem when i came to silicone round the bath...the gap between the bath and the wall was quite big and as the wall was not level, it gets gradually bigger ending up about 3/4 inch. All i did was fill the gap with silicone, and although this seals the bath nicely, it doesn't look the best!

I was just wondering if there was a common way around this sort of problem, as i'm sure i'm not the first to come accross it (i hope)

ok then, how do you get it to sit flush agaisnt an uneven wall?

skimming the wall

replastering the wall

or all three



sorry no real short cuts to it, unless you get a flexible bath
