Hi all

I've been contemplating what material to cap my parapet with. The parapet is single block with cedar cladding mounted on battens. Aluminium coping kits look ideal however expensive so I'm considering stone. I fibreglassed up and over the top of the parapet. Would I simply lay the stone on a bed of cement straight on top of the grp or will this not adhier very well? Would expansion cause an issue? I was considering slate, would a drip groove be required on the outer overhang if I angle the stone inwards for internal runoff?. Thank you in advance.

No vertical counter battens behind the horizontal ones to create a ventilated void behind the cladding?

Sorry poorly described by me. This is a picture of the timber canopy so lots of void. The blockwork walls are horizontal and vertical battened.
