Boilers, heating controls and hot water cylinders are targeted under the Building Regulations. With domestic heating responsible for almost one third of all domestic CO2 emissions, the changes to Part L dictate that only SEDBUK A and B level boilers – that is condensing – are to be installed in the majority of domestic premises when undertaking replacement or new installations, and after 1st May 2007, this will be compulsory in Scotland.
