Hi
This might sound like a stupid question, but I want to tile my friends kitchen floor.
It is a very small floor (just 4.5m2) in an L shape due to cabinets etc.
The floor is Weyroc chipboard (previously it was tiled - directly onto the chipboard with no ill effects )
anyway I would like to know once I ensure that the chipboard is securely fastened and none moving, can I apply a self levelling coat to the top of it to add more rigidity??
if not how come?
I can't overply as the room already has a step and this would make things look much worse, and self level only adds about 3-4mm depth.
Would the self leveller not just sit on top and once it goes rigid allow me to tile on top with a flexible adhesive i.e Bal fastflex???????
thans in advance
