Hi, we are in the middle of a kitchen reno in our old edwardian house. Kitchen is solid floor with no dpm. We aren't digging it up.. we want to seal it with a liquid dpm, level it and tile.
Struggling to understand the order to do things in and looking for product reccomendations.
What is the best liquid dpm, ardex seems most reccomended.
What prep is needed before using liquid dpm - the floor has old adhesive residue left in parts of it as well as marks where possible asbestos tiles used to be.
Do we then use a primer on top of this. Then self level.

Thanks!

You'll need to scrape off the old adhesive residue, then vac the floor & prime & then SLC. Many different types available. Ardex is top of the range, along with Sika. others include Mapei and then own brands such as Screwfix no nonsense. Follow the instructions for mixing and placement, some mix with water, others you need their latex mix liquid. Putting it down at correct depth (not too thin) and using trowels and spiked roller can help remove air bubbles and obtain a flat finish

Scrape up anything loose
Prime sub floor with water or 8-1 primer
Screed floor at 3-4mm with one of these
Ardex na
Bostik CL955 advanced
Mapei na
Fball 1200 Pro
Kerakoll pro flow

Then Dpm it. Has to be a epoxy
Ardex dpm1c or fball F77 is what we use
