Apologies in advance for what is no doubt a stupid question. I think I already know the answer but as it's a rented property I want to make sure I'm not doing any damage.

I went in the loft and noticed that the service lid on the cold water tank (Polytank PT2000) was loose so there's a thin gap all the way round.

I've lifted the lid to take a look and all looks fine inside but I'd like to press the lid down so that it's secure. Would doing that cause any problems or is it meant to be loose?

Thanks.
