As you can see by the picture with the red line pointing at the screw section of this copper pipe, when I turned it to increase the flow of water into my cistern tank it suddenly started to spew water out. I managed to ease it so it was slowly coming out as I can't seem to stop the slow flow unless I turn the water off. When I turned the screw gently in the opposite direction it made no difference so I'm taking it the screw has ceased and will not turn any further. Can anyone advise me if its best to replace the whole copper section as its never been replaced since I've had my house which the house was a new build back in 1999. Anyway help would be great.....please......And would Wicks be a good place for a replacement?

While you are going to the trouble of replacing it, go for a Pegler service valve, the cheap ones all leak eventually.

They are cheap for a reason.
