I have a p-u-w on the bidet, I find it practically impossible to get at.

I was working on the kitchen yesterday and happened to make this modification which I expect will make it easier to check for leaks in the bathroom above.

I think it drips where the lever goes through a cap on the waste :(

I wonder if there is a manufacturer of pop-up wastes that makes a special, non-standard version that doesn't leak :(

What's that in the floor, a drain hole?

I think it's where the plumber drilled for the waste pipe before changing his mind.

the waste from the bidet comes down about there, but then it goes up and round a trap like the end of a trombone, then comes down again on the near side of those two 22mm copper pipes

get rid of the bidet and wash your ass in the shower like every one else

But they're SO useful, for descaling secondary heat exchangers. Just take some hydrochloric acid and soak over night.

Try not to forget when you sit on it in the morning because it doesn't half sting if you let anything dangle.

Best to let the missus go first.

They're all carp :)

I think the problem is the surface chroming of the ball on the rod corrodes and the surface isn't then smooth enough to seal against the PTFE seating.

I find wrapping the ball in PTFE tape seems to solve it for some time but periodic checking of the knurled cap nut is required (ie if you tighten it too much the waste requires too much effort to open/close).

Alternativeely you could jam an incontinence pad underneath. Monument do them now...they can hold a significant amount

Maybe I should just fit a plughole-type waste?

Coat the new ball on the pivot with silicone grease and they last years.
