Servis XL6 washing machine - motor not turning:-(

Belt is on, timer does it's thing, machine fills up & pumps out but does not agitate or spin, it's about 2 years old. Spoke to local dealer/repairman who said module or motor, either way not worth repairing . Fact is the budget won't run to a new machine so how can I, novice that I am, determine if it is really dead or do I just accept the word of someone wanting to sell me a new machine ?

Check the carbon brushes in the motor. If they are ok then it's most likely the module.

Thanks, will try that when able to as both machine and my ferrets are in the garage.....the little guys tend to be overly helpful with whatever I do in there . Whereabouts will the module be and what does it look like please?
