I will be tiling a shower cubicle and bathroom floor with 18' x 18' square travertine tiles.
Just setting the tiles out and deciding whether to use a bonded style.
I like the look of the bonded style but I have never seen it done before with square tiles.
I have trawled through loads of images but not one shows a square tile bonded style.
Any reason why large square tiles seem to always to be laid in what I would call the old fashioned style

Any advice greatfully received.

Andy.

its personnel preferance at the end of the day mate...risbond or broken bond....

for me its risbond mate.

set them out dry on the floor see how it sits with you..
the tiles are they filled or unfilled...
seal them
use a white bagged adhesive...
back butter the tiles
seal them
grout
seal..

try setting them 1/3.. if you dont like 1/2 tiles if you like as well..

as they are only 450x450 you shouldnt have any bowing in the tiles but check anyway.
