Hi, just come across your post.
I have a set pattern for setting up zones, but this may not be in accordance with your installation manual. Zone 1 is always the entry/exit route and includes the main exit door. I use zone 2 as the 'intermediate' entry zone. This means that when the alarm is set and you leave the premises, zone 1, the main exit door, must be opened before entering the 'intermediate' zone 2. If not, then an alarm condition will occur. If your system is similar and you have a contact on the main exit door, this may be malfunctioning.
However, If zone 2 is inhibited when you part set the panel, then the fault may be here rather than at zone 1.
Strictly speaking, a little more information is needed before a definite conclusion can be reached. For example, you may need to reprogram zone 2, there may be a detector fault at zone 2 and the list goes on.
Although I have highlighted the most common form of entry/exit, there are several other methods which may be adopted. Final Set, Push to Set and so on. Therefore, please don't assume that your system is set up in the same way as mentioned above.
A bit more info, and we'll crack it.
