I can't see your picture clearly, but these type of lights often have inbuilt switches that isolate the electrical supply when the cover is removed. Lugs on the cover / diffuser press on the switches when the unit is in an assembled state. The lugs unfortunately can have a habit of breaking off.

Hi,
I figured out that the 'thing' is a cut out when the light cover is off. I narrowed the gap a little between the connections, and put it all back together but it still doesn't work.

Any ideas how to test it please?

C.

Hi S,
The lugs on the cover are still there, perhaps I'll poke it with an isolated screwdriver.

EDIT: There are two buttons, I pushed them with isolated screwdrivers, and the light came on.

Thanks, S.
