I have removed a cover off the wall in the bathroom and guessing it is a shaver socket. Would like to use it so need to change the socket. There are one black and one red cable so i guess it is not earthed? Help anybody? wouldn't want to kill myself. Thanks

Please get this checked out to confirm it is indeed safe to reconnect before going any further. The fact that no earth present means nothing. It may be an old lighting circuit but you should not connect this to a shaver socket until it can be traced back and confirmed safe to reinstate. Hope this helps.
Indeed. Anything electrical in the bathroom must be earthed and bonded and/or protected by an RCD.

I have seen in council flats boxes in bathrooms wired as to describe that were originally fitted to work call buttons.
