Shelves in sloping loft chimney alcove

I want to put some shelves into the alcoves of the chimney breast in my loft much like the picture below. (toward bottom of gallery)

But not 100% on how to add the batons that will be on the sloping roof and underside of chimney.

Does anybody have any tips on this please?
