Shingles vaccine for our older members

You were in a privileged position to refuse, I was forced to have it. However I did refuse as long as I could until AstraZeneca was offered and I had that. As that was based on older tech.

Hardly a 'privileged position'...

And I didn't refuse, I chose not to.

There were also loopholes until 'forced medication' was dropped...

My GP told me didn't have any jabs, and only wore a mask during a consultation if requested.
Well he had it on when you entered the room, but said if I wasn't bothered he wasn't.
I did however wear mine in the waiting room out of courtesy for those of a more nervous disposition.

The research would have all been paid for by the company flogging the stuff.

DYOR and don't assume that "they" know best or are only interested in your welfare.
Did you do any research? Because they weren't paid by the company flogging the stuff.

edit link corrected

It was a data analysis exercise and the scientists crunching the data are employed at various top tier universities.

My school teacher at 31 years of age got Chicken pox. This led to Shingles and he died.

On the face of it he was a young fit man.

I wish you all well John. Keep on top of it. x

Turns out it was an experimental type and was later withdrawn due to excess deaths/side effects
I thought you said it was sone of the whole cell versions which were withdrawn when safer live-attenuated alternatives were developed?

These days you would know if you're taking part in a study on an experimental vaccine, but given your age the standards would have been lower so who knows, maybe you were part of a study.

Choosing the COVID vaccine with the worst adverse reactions was an interesting choice.
I did my research and did not want the untested experimental gean therapy non vaccine. AND I did not choose it - I was forced to have it.
It's sad to see bad things happen to good sentences.
It makes more sense than when you post after smoking your weed.

The only thing being keep on the top of the list is your argumentative attitude

I fear that your definition of argumentative attitude is the expression of views in opposition of yours, criticism of your views, and not letting you get away unchallenged.

Do you think the site should operate on the basis that nobody should argue with you?

I had chickenpox when I reached around retirement age. Bit of a surprise as it was usually a childhood disease (there is now a vaccine for children).

The young doctor I saw had to call in an older colleague because he had never seen it on an adult before.

On the bright side, antivirals stopped its progress in a couple of days, but it was weeks before fully healed. Very contagious, I understand.

I had chicken pox (NOT shingles) when I was about 30. It started like a really bad cold, feeling lousy and achy. I didn't know it was chicken pox during this as the spots don't appear at first, in fact they only appeared when I started to feel better.

I've been lucky and had very good health all my life, the chicken pox is so far the most poorly I've ever been! I put my good health down to being active, seeing fun in everything and never taking life too seriously, working hard, never taking drugs - legal or otherwise and never following any trends or fashions in thinking.
