Hi,

My gas fired Burnham Revolution boiler stopped working. When I checked it out, the fan and circulator pumps were running, but no heat. I used the manual's instructions and a volt meter and arrived at the conclusion that it could be a problem with the flame roll out switch. When I fiddled with it, it fired up.

But then, when it happened again, like an idiot, I started it with the roll out switch not connected to the burner access panel. The switch touched the sheet metal jacket on the boiner and dzt! a pretty spark and, now when I power up, I get a very disappointing silence.

I tried jumping the switch, but didn't expect any results from that... just wishful thinking. So I think I fried something. :|

Next steps? I'm a homeowner with a little bit a plumbing experience, but unemployed so I'd like to take a crack at at least diagnosing my own screw up.

No wonder you are unemployed!

No employer would want to risk you fiddling with things you dont understand!

First things first, if you have shorted the unit then have you checked all fuses and or breakers.... do you have voltage coming in to the boiler?

Hi,

There is power to the boiler. Following the owner's manual's troubleshooting instructions: no voltage between B1 and B2. Trail goes dead since the Burnham troubleshooting guide says to test between transformer pink and brown wires. There is a pink one, but no brown. Got 21 volts across T1 and T2 assuming that's the transformer, then 21 between T and TV.

So the Burnham suggestion is to replace the L8148E.

Anything to watch out for on that road?

Thanks for your help Corgigrouch
