I've put in 3 new aurora m10 led dob lights into my bathroom. I've also attached aurora insulation caps. I've heard the light is designed to be covered with loft insulation. I know there are different opinions over whether these lights should be covered in insulation roll or not.

Just wondering what viewers think?

As there is no heat produced by led's then they should be good to cover, in my opinion...pinenot :)

Absolute rubbish.
LEDs produce less heat than halogens, but they still produce heat. What's more, the LED itself, and the electronics that go with it, are quite sensitive to heat and will fail if you insulate the LED and prevent the heat escaping.

So the answer is to always follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding the required space around the fitting. I'm not familiar with the OPs fittings, but the Haler fittings my mate used require a considerable amount of space round them.

The differnece between LEDs and standard bulbs, is that standard bulbs will overheat so much it could be a fire risk.

If LED bulbs overheat, it will just shortern their life (I can't say for certain there is no fire risk, but the temperature differences between the two are large).

I'd still recomend some space around the LED bulb, I've covered my LED downlighters with loft caps, and 300mm of mineral wool, still fine after 2 years.
