I have a fairly old heating system with only one TRV on a radiator in our bedroom. All other rads have no TRV's.

I'm just about to fit a new radiator in the hall and therefore have the easy opportunity to fit a TRV. However, this rad will heat the hall, stairs and landing and the roomstat that controls the heating for the whole house is also located in the hall.

I can't work out logically whether it would be a good idea to fit a TRV on the rad in the hall if i don't have them fitted elsewhere in the house.

All advice appreciated.

you dont want a trv near the house stat. so dont fit one in the hall...rest of the house yes..(on the most exposed side of rad..ie not rad side behind a curtain/wardrobe)
