We have TRVs on all radiators in the house except the hall and bathroom

They all have there own temperature sensor and turn on and off when the rooms get to hot / cold all good

But the hall radiator as it has no TRV atall comes on every time any other room heats up so it gets bit too hot and we feel waisting money as we don't spend much time in there

I have attached image of what's currently on the hall radiator how easy it or to fit TRV to this does the whole valve need replacing?

Anything else we can do besides chsngi g the valve as we just don't have the money to get a plumber out right now

Thanks in advance

Mark

You probably have or had a room thermostat in the hall, that is why no TRV, if you want one you will have to replace the complete valve

Is there a way to manually turn it down until we can afford to get a TRV fitted ?
Thanks

You haven't confirmed if you do have a room thermostat in the Hall and if you do and it's too warm in there, you can turn the room thermostat down.

If you do have a room thermostat in the hall, fitting a TRV to the radiator that is in there could interfere with the thermostats operation such that it never gets to the operating temperature and doesn't control the boiler as it should, that's why as @ianmcd stated there probably hasn't been a TRV fitted.

You can find more information Here. Scroll down to "What about TRV's.

If you don't have a thermostat in the hall you can ignore the above.
