I really would appreciate any advice on whether we should change our hot air central heating system. We are looking to renovate the house (70's 4 bed detached) and have been told by 3 estate agents and a surveyor that our 'old' hot air system should be changed for a new modern system. The system is based on a Johnson & Starley boiler. There are a number of annoying things about the system such as the noisy air intake in the hall, upstairs vents in the ceiling, water and heating on a single timer, etc, but the system does heat the house well. Should we change to a new wet system with radiators and a modern boiler. Are hot air systems really not liked - would this affect the sale of our home. British Gas have quoted for a system with a condensing boiler in the garage and digital controls, etc. Unfortunately, we would not use British Gas as they are clearly more interested in an 'easy install' rather than listening to our requirements. Thanking you for any advice.
