I have a double glazing door frame

The bits around the edge is coming of

It looks as though it was filled with something previously - l look like 'plaster' type material + it seems to be a little rubbery (it's definitely not silicone though)

What should I use to fill the gaps?

Caulk??

I've bought some, but I thought I'd ask here before using

Would it be a bad idea to use silicone?

Any advice would be great

Thanks

Inside or outside? On the inside, use caulk. Outside, use silicone.

it's on the inside

i was scratching my head - i thought silicone maybe the bets answer

the door has to shut with a small slam
this cause the whole frame and wall to move just a little
so i thought if i apply caulk, then slowly... very slowly... it will start coming apart?

let me know what u think

thanks

Caulk might crack, but silicone won't take paint. I'd advise fixing the frame so it doesn't require slamming..

Poly sulphide on the outside will take paint- silicone wont.

Or use Sikaflex. It is very flexible and available in a number of colours.

I agree that fixing the frame would be a good idea.
