Working freely in any country aint the problem, its all the rubbish coming over here to live off the state and bleed the system dry.

I live in a small town with an increasing number of immigrants mainly from eastern Europe, so much so that our local car boot sale is becoming known as 'little Poland'. Without exception, those that I have spoken to have no intention of living of the state. A friend, a builder, now employs 9 foreign workers out of a total staff of 42. Another friend, who is employed as foreman in the same building company, is of the opinion that the foreign influx is the best thing that has happened in their firm. The shirkers who were responsible for poor productivity have gone and the hard working remainder helped by the industrious foreign workers have put a new lease of life into the business. Rubbish? They're the ones that have been replaced and are probably now living of the state and bleeding the system dry just like many thousands of other British nationals.

PS If the choice in the poll had been 'Yes because I think that it is an important issue' OR 'No because the topic has already been flogged to death' then I would have made a choice. As it stands, no.

Does anyone know what level of state benefit you can expect to receive in other EU countries? What about health cover? Does any other member state offer facilities comparable to the UK?

Why did Nigel Hastilow, the Conservative Party candidate, have to step down after a row over his comments, in a newspaper, that Enoch Powell was "right" on immigration?

I think that Gordon Brown should leap at the chance to recruit Nigel as his 'Immigration Czar'.

He is the only person outside the realms of 'Joe Public' who has the guts to say what the majority of the population of this country are saying in pubs and shops throughout the land.

They certainly aren't saying it in this forum. They all fall over the place to see who can be the King of the PC brigade.

What about them coming over and shagging our women though?

A touch unfair Joe. From what I've read, most members here do believe it either is, or has the potential to be, a problem.

Mod 5 not a smear, it's public knowledge on this forum of his sexual leaning and i was questioning why he said what he did as it surprised me that he would include himself when talking of the opposite sex.

First I've heard of it. I thought he was married and then met another woman?

You might be getting confused with ninebob (there's a clue in his name), but I don't mind.
