Should there be corrosion inhibitor in a combi system?

Hi

A friend has had his plumbing redone in his new flat ie new pipework, rads and combi boiler. Should corrosion inhibitor be added to a system like this?

Yes.

A magnetic filter would be a good idea, too. (Magnaclean etc)
 
Yes.

The manufacturer's instructions will usually specify it and if they are not followed any warranty will be void.
