Hi

I've been looking at chrome heated towel rails and some of them say in the details :This radiator can be connected to a central heating system as long as it has been treated with a Corrosion inhibitor

My question is,if I don't know whether my system has an inhibitor does that mean I can't have this type of radiator or is it just a case of adding the inhibitor before installing the new radiator?

Thanks for any help.

If you haven't put inhibitor in your system for a few years, won't hurt to. You will probably have to at least partially drain system anyway to fit towel rail.

I would drain fully, fit rail, refill system then run to test for leaks etc. If all OK, turn off rail's valves and crack open the joint between one valve and rad and drain out sufficient water to make space for the inhib. Then add the inhib through one of the bleed plugs at top of rail.
