Should there be flashing where roof joins next doors wall?

We have a damp problem which has got worse over the last year or so but only apparent during the colder months. The neighbours wall inside our roof (in the image our roof is on the right) is damp but not near the actual roof itself, I'm guessing because air flow is drying that part of it?

As you can see from the picture there is no flashing against the neighbours wall and I was thinking that is what the issue is. Although it doesn't look like there has ever been flashing there to my unskilled eyes.

Both my neighbours and my house are stone built and have recently undergone renovation for double glazing removing the airflow throughout the building which was considerable with a gale blowing through the loft hatch which I'm assuming used to keep this in check.

Would welcome opinions from more knowledgable people than myself.
