Shower Cable Junction box

Hi There,

A friend of mine is wanting to fit a new shower RCD, but where it can be located makes the shower cable about a foot or so too short.
Is it safe or indeed legal to fit a junction box to extend said cable.

Provided that the junction box is adequately rated, competently installed, and in a location where it is accessible for inspection then yes.
