I have had this happen 3 times in about 2 years now!
I'm using 10mm cable and the switch is supposed to be 50amp. I am running a 9.5kw on a 40 amp fuse.
Bas said:burnt out switches can be caused by loose connections (which is why all installations should be checked on a regular basis). The other thing you can do to avoid that is to switch the shower on at the shower rather than the switch. Switching that kind of current can cause arcing at the contacts and therefore burning in time.
