guys im after some advice. around 6 months ago ceiling switch for shower packed up. replaced it and all was fine. now today same thing has happened. replaced again and all fine. however this time when i removed the faulty switch it smelt and on further investigation all the terminals were black as if burnt. am i mising a more serious problem here ? if so what do you suggest ?

Yeah, tighten up the connections, go for a walk and re-tighten the connections again! copper wire is mallable.

You'll now have to cut back the burnt ends or it could happen again.
