Can anyone help with a probably very obvious question?

I have bought a basic shower curtain rod. It can only be mounted along one wall of the bath so will need to use three of the poles and have two corner pieces. The box recommends 90x90x90 but I'd like to make it 72x98x72.

Will this make the rod unstable? In order to have the longer length, do I need to suspend one of the corners from the ceiling?

Thanks!

I wouldn't have thought so, overall there will be less cantilevering.

But in anycase I would have been suspicious of not having any drop mounts at the corners anyway.
