OK, to be clear, I have a builder, doing a loft conversion. But, we are trying to decide what to do with the shower .... let's start with a photo or two:

So, we are having a 1300x900 shower tray, the question is, how to finish it. The builder suggests that we create a new wall and lose the space either side, so that the shower looks like it is inset into the wall. It will look much neater this way. The other option is to have stud walls either side of it and a thin gap each side.

I think the advantage of the 2nd option is a little more storage space. But, will look a bit messy maybe, plus more tiles etc.

There is obviously still more insulation and plasterboard to go on the roof, so the space will get smaller.

Oh, the bits of wood mark where the walls would be, and the strip of insulation board marks the edge of the shower tray.

What would you do with the space?

I like the builders idea, so from the front you'd see wall, glass door, wall - but on the inside you could build a seat either side of the shower as well as additional storage from the front or shelves on the sides. Get a rain maker head but also a couple of moveable heads.

yeah, I think we will go with that. Deep shelf on one side and a seat on the other would fill the space.
