Hi anyone,

I want to install fan and light in new shower cubical. Existing wiring in room has a double switch.

5 wires :

Black - L1
Yellow - L2
Blue - L3

Opposite end

Red - L1
Red - L2
Empty - L3

I moved existing room switch outside of new bathroom and terminated the double switch at the far end of the room. I cut off and made safe.

Central light does not work now but I also think the 2 way switch fed another outside light. So I believe i've cut the loop.

What I want to do is use the cut off wiring to feed a pullcord switch outside of the shower cubical that operates both shower light and room lights.

Can someone draw me a diagram? HELP!

There's one in the For Reference section.

Doesn't sound like you had a loop to the switches - just the more common loop-in system at the ceiling roses.

You can't feed a new light directly from the switches because there is no neutral there.

You need to get the original system working again, and start again, with reference to the diagrams of how lighting circuits are wired...
