My daughter has moved into house with combi boiler. Bathroom cold taps and toilet still fed from tank in loft. Installed new mixer shower but the cold supply is still connected to loft tank. Would it be better to connect cold to mains?

Yes, ,,,,,,,,,, how well it'll work depends on mains pressure .

Hot water pressure through combi around 9 litres/min and mains water over 15lpm

Sorry I got my pressure and flow rate mixed up. The flow rates are as I said above, up to ten and above fifteen litres per min. I don't know the pressure although when on full the kitchen cold splashes on the floor. She hasn't used the shower yet but after I've just run it for a minute I've noticed that the cold pipe, a foot or so above the mixer is the same temp as the hot. Could the hot be travelling up the cold pipe? Or is it just conduction? The cold water tank is about 6 feet above the mixer.
