Shower hose outlet

So finally the bathroom that I’ve had lots of advice on is pretty fitted by my plumber and tiler.

I’m concerned that his “silicone will fix it” answer is not the right response to this problems though but could you give me advice so I know it could/should be done please?

He’s put a flexible hose onto the blended water for the shower hose. Probably easiest to see in the attached photos.

Is there as easier way to get the crosswater fitting to attach please?

That's a massive bodge and will severely restrict the flow to your shower. It can be piped up quite easily in copper.

Yeah I thought so.
It should be piped up in copper with a nut and olive on the back of it?
How can it keep being tightened if it needs to locate in the right place in the shower?

You would put a 1/2 tap connector onto the back of it and solder copper into that.

I have a feeling that he wanted to use one on the top shower outlet (drench head) but he said it wouldn't fit so had to use one of this instead which used a load of PTFE tape in to get the seal...

They are both the same as what I used on mine (but I used a Speedfit tap connector).

I fittedthe wall plate elbow to some timber on a joist an screwed a 120mm chrome extension piece into it.

So I need a straight one of those by the looks of it as it has to get through 4" timber.
I can't find those compression fixings in screwfix etc.

That’s perfect, thanks! I’ll pick up a couple and let the plumber know I want the flexible hose off and for him to use either of those instead and run it in copper. I had a feeling it wasn’t right what he’d done!
