apologies because I see there are allot of topics on the subject...
I have a plastic (not PVC) tray on a concrete floor and I am 100% confident the pipework is ok - since there is no wet when I remove the inspection panel at the front of the shower.
I have pressure tested the mixer by attaching a shut off valve where the shower head should be and turning it on - with the wall plate removed - all dry inside (now - there was a prob before).
However the problem is a dribble when I aim the shower at the bottom of the tray where the door joins the wall and tray. i.e. exactly the kind of spray that happens as the water bounces off the body of the person in the shower when in use. I can't for the life of me seem to stop the leak. I have recently re-grouted the entire shower and replaced the door and re-sealed the door on replacement.
I can only now imagine that either - I have no idea how to use the Bal sealant I am applying? Technique, cut out with stanley all the old, remove with silicone remover, clean with meths. Apply small bead of new seal. Smooth with wet finders, lubricant = washing up liquid.
Or. There is water entering the door frame and thereafter the wall behind - not sure about this bit>>??
Finally it's worth saying that I can replicate the problem on demand by detaching the shower head and resting the pipe outlet on the shower tray lip (where bottles of shampoo normally sit) and gently directing a stream of water at that door / wall / tray joint.
I have looked and looked but I can't obviously see where I need to direct my energy now. I am writing this to stop myself uselessly applying more and more sealant and making a right pigs ear of things.
Thanks very much for reading
