Hi
I was determined today to start prepping bathroom for microcement but have run into a problem with this shower mixer face plate. it has two metal rings that go between the plate and the control but I can’t fit these through the plate! Tried fairy liquid, lever, squeeze, whacking but can’t get them through and now wondering if they were supposed to come already fitted.

does anyone know a trick? What am I missing here please?

Tried silicone grease? If they still don't fit then take off the orings and see if the rings actually fit into the plate, may need file/ground out.

Solution was to remove the O rings, push the rings through then use a small screwdriver to create some leverage while I pushed the O rings back on once it was through. Seems obvious now
