Guys & Galls,

Can anyone help.

very old house - boiler is @ 20 years old servived by BG and they say its safe......

Shower in bathroom is vistorian type ( but new ) fed of hot water emersion tank and cold water from the mains. Recently - over the cold months the temparaeture of the shower has been fading somewhat.... the hot seems to be in cometition with ths cold... Not achieving a really good temp in the showerr.

The emersion tank is insulation and in the bathroom @ 2 meters below the feed to the shower ( goes up into the loft and then back down)

Cold water is form the mains......

It used to be okay ... but is getting worse.

Hot water out the tap is fine - loads of it ~??????

So must be a problem between the hot water emersion tank and the shower ? - Could it be a pressure problem from the hot water side - although the tank in the loft is well above all.

Help.....

You have NO chance of getting a decent shower with this set up. The cold mains pressure is much higher than the hot so you'll find it practically impossible to get "warm". Really you need to get the cold supply from the same tank in the loft as the hot. You can p155 about with pressure reducing valves on the cold but it doesn't work very well.

I think you mean your boiler has SURVIVED attention from BG - well done that boiler!
