I currently have a corner shower unit in my en-suite, the 2 walls of the corner both go against internal walls. Currently my shower mixer valve is fed by 2 pipes that run down the inside of the shower cubicle, ie the inlets to my mixer are pointing vertically. I am looking to change the shower mixer valve and the only ones i can find have horizontal inlets which means i will need to run the water feed pipes down the inside of the wall cavity. On both wall cavities i have electric cables running to a hallway switch and a vanity light in the main bathroom. Are there any special precautions that need to be taken if having an electric cable running alongside a feed to a shower.

There should be a distance between the cable and hot water pipe to prevent the heat from damaging the cable, that distance is not really specified, but common-sense would suggest no contact and I would expect at least 50mm.
