Hi all.

My mother-in-law's shower is in need of a boost. A new shower has been fitted but it retains the same poor performance as the old one.

The house is fed from its own well with a submerged pump. The water is pumped in to an overhead tank, which has two outlets - 1 direct to the shower and 1 to the rest of the water outlets in the house.

The tank is sat on the joists in the loft (single story house) and therefore the down pipe to the shower is only about 3ft.

I am thinking about putting a pump in at box A on the diagram (single impeller as the shower is only cold water fed). What pump should I look for? Should the pump power be on all the time or will it be on demand from the water the shower uses?

Also the well provides a lot of lime and other deposits. Is there an in-line filter I could fit at box B to help out?

Thanks.
