Shower Problem?

I have a 6 year old Gainsborough 2000x 9.5Kw shower that has developed a strange fault.
If the shower head is lowered below the shower unit the heater cuts out and the water goes cold, put the shower head back in the holder above the shower unit and it works fine.
Must be something to do with pressure but I don’t know what.

check the shower hose.
when they fail they collapse inside restricting the flow from the shower.
restricting the flow will cause the heat can to overheat and the tco activate.

You are syphoning the shower and that causes the soft/perished lining inside the hose to collapse.

just buy a new hose as it will be this as previously stated
