i have a wall mounted gravity fed showers and to get hot water out of it i need to turn off the main cold water feed into my flat, which supplies water to all the cold taps, toilet and immersion heater, and turn the shower on until the hot water flow gradually increases.

my immersion heater provides the hot water to the taps and shower via a t-junction installed at the pipe on the bottom of the immersion tank, with one junction feeding the shower the other feeding the rest of the taps.

when i try to get hot water out of the shower the shower pipe shakes and jerks while the hot water flow increases. does this sound like an air lock? or is it something else? once the flow is sufficient and turn the cold supply back on the shower works fine until the next time i want to use it. All other hot water taps work fine.

unfortunatly dont have a digital camera

it connects via a t junction from the main, mains supply into the top of the immersion tank. the water into the tank is controlled by a ball cock valve
